She bought 10 apples and 10 bananas

Explanation:

10 apples - $1.50 each x 10 apples = $15.00

10 bananas - $1.25 each x 10 bananas = $12.50

15.00+12.50=$27.50

x+y=28.00

1.50x+1.25y=28
