\begin{bmatrix}4x+4y=0\\ -4x-4y=0\end{bmatrix}

Subtract 4y from both sides.

4x+4y-4y=0-4y

Simplify

4x=-4y

Divide each side by 4

(4x)/(4)=(-4y)/(4)

Simplify

x= -y

Substitute x as -y.

\begin{bmatrix}-4\left(-y\right)-4y=0\end{bmatrix}

0=0

The values of x and y are both zero.
