Muhammad was orphaned at a very young age. his father passed away about almost 6 months before he was born. According to Islamic tradition Muhammed was sent to live with a Bedouin family in the dessert, as the dessert was considered healthier for infants. Muhammed stayed with his foster mother Halimah Bint Abi Dhuwayb until he was 2 years old.at the age of 6 he lost his biological mother, Amina, to illness and was raised by his paternal grandfather, Abd al-Mutalib, until he died when Muhammad was 8 then come under the care of his uncle Abu Talib, the new leader of Bana Hashim.
