Answer: Hello there! My best guess would be that line 14 contains no figurative language.

Explanation: I pretty much used the process of elimination for this one.

  • Line 14 doesn't have "like" or "as" in it like all (or at least most) similies do.
  • The rain falling into life doesn't possess any human-like characteristics (personification). It's just rain falling.
  • Line 14, to me, does not epitomize a metaphor because it doesn't really compare to anything. It's just stating that rain must fall. (The only way I could see a metaphor in this situation is if the whole poem were to be used as a metaphor for a bad day.)
