Split this figure out. Find the area of the square, as well as the rectangle.

First, the square

A= 4 x 3

A= 12 ft^2

Therefore, the square has an area of 12ft^2.

Then, the rectangle.

We must first find the length of the unknown side.

We have two measurements of 3ft on each side, as well as the middle measurement of 4ft.

So,

3+3+4=10

Now, find the area.

A= 2 x 10

A=20ft^2

Add the areas.

20+12=32ft^2

Therefore, the area of the figure is 32ft^2.

I hope this is correct. Best of luck.
