What does the guard cell do in photosynthesis?​

Guard cells surrounding the stomata are helpful in maintaining the water level of plant.

They regulate the water flow by opening and closing the stomata.

So they are not possibly the site for photosynthesis.

The presence of chloroplasts shows the entrapment of solar energy.
