Answer:

  • Variable elimination
  1. 8x+3y=-7
  2. 3y=-8x-7
  3. y=-8/3x-7/3
  • Now plug it into y
  • 7x-16/3x-14/3=-3
  • 5/3x-14/3=-3
  • 5/3x=5/3
  • x=1
