During WWII, Japan was allied with Italy and Germany (Axis powers). Japan invaded China and Korea, using the Chinese and Koreans as slaves & establishing an empire in the Pacific. China asked America for help, and Japan wanted to take out America’s Pacific Fleet before America could send their ships to help. Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was bombed by Japan, leading to America fully entering into WWII.
