Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes; Being vexed, a sea nourished with loving tears. What is it else? A madness most discreet, A choking gall, and a preserving sweet.

what does Romeo think love is based off this.

He describes it as bittersweet. It almost blinds you and changed your perspective on things. The use of oxymorons shows how he views love as conflicting and the ‘sea nourished with tears’ metaphor suggests that love causes sadness and hatred as well as joy.

Answer:

Based off this, Romeo sees love as something blinding. He sees it as blissful but ignorant. It causes you to lose sight of what's truly around you, which can lead to not so lovely situtations.
