How do you find zeros of a quadratic function?

Answer:

You find the zeros of a quadratic functions by factoring the function. And once you have factored the function you take the factors and flip the signs. For example, you have the factors (x-4) and (x+3).

Drop the parentheses and make x equal to zero.

x - 4 = 0 x - 3 = 0

Solve it like a one step equation.

x - 4 = 0 x - 3 = 0

+ 4 +4 +3 +3

= 4 = 3

Then turn into coordinates.

x y x y

(4,0) (3,0)

Note that the zero's are the x-intercepts. I labeled x above the first part of the coordinate to show where the x-intercepts should and the same with the y.
