This is verbal irony. She is saying the opposite of what she means. (like sarcasm)

An understatement is something that is downplayed (there was a little rain” there was actually a flood)
A paradox is something that is true but contradictory (You don’t know what you have until it’s gone)
A hyperbole is an exaggeration of something to untrue proportions (His ears were as big as an elephants- this is exaggerated)
