How does Mary Shelley draw from and transform source material in her novel Frankenstein? answer if anyone knows please

I believe it was by her reading another book that seemed to have a very similar story and it gave her ideas to incorporate those ideas and other theories into her story just put in her own kind of image that she saw the story
