Organisms capture and store energy by for example if an animal is eating something containing glucose the glucose breaks down into energy. The carbon dioxide and water are expelled from the organism and the energy is stored in a molecule called adenosine. The organisms release this energy by cells using oxygen to release energy stored in sugars such as glucose.
