john collier called for the repeal of the Dawes Allotment and Eleanor urged the appointment of Mary McLeod Bethune. Eleanor Roosevelt helped the reforms of the African Americans by taking a stand to help those who are deprived to be noticed in the mainstream. Collier helped establishing the Bureau of indian affairs
