Explanation:

We know that the formula for the area of something is 1/2 * base * height

So we multiply 1/2 * 8 * 2 for The first triangle and get 8

Repeat for the other 3:

1/2* 2*2 = 2

8+8+2+2 = 20

* there are 4 triangles but I only needed to do the formula for two of them because they have identical triangles.
