I say people decided to stand up for themselves when they feel a sense of justice. They'll know that hey this is wrong I should defend myself because i'm getting treated in this way and it seems wrong. When people think that they're going to stand up for themselves because they're fed up with being treated in that way. Sometimes people would go to ask for advice and maybe that's how some decided it's time to stand up for themselves because it was good advice someone told them.
