  • Perpendicular=P=63
  • Hypotenuse=H=65

Base:-

  • √H²-P²
  • √65²-63²
  • √16²
  • 16ft

Answer:

in right angled triangle ABC

hypotenuse [h]=65ft

base[b]=xft

height[p]=63ft

by using Pythagoras law

h²=p²+b²

65²=63²+x²

x²=65²-63²

x=√256

x=16feet

so the third side of the sail is 16ft.
