I would consider Ponyboy a dynamic character. Ponyboy one of the main characters, experiences one of the most life changing events that shapes his character from being shy, kind, and confused about life to being confident, less afraid, wiser and many other different qualities. Ponyboy grows into more of an adult after talking with Cherry Valance and beginning to understand that everyone faces problems and people are not so different. By the end of the novel, after Ponyboy has witnessed the deaths of Bob Sheldon and Johnny, he has completely lost his innocence. He realizes that just as he does not like being judged for being a greaser, he should not judge Socs. When Pony meets Cherry, his attitude toward Scos changes.
