Both were created for the same purpose, fighting your opponent to the death for glory and honor. The hunger games arena was more advanced and was harder to survive, not only were you up against an opponent you also had to fight the unfair elements. The Roman colosseum didn’t have force fields, fire balls, or mutts. Instead it was just you and your opponent.

Hope this was helpful :)
