It's translated edition of parent function y=|x|

  • y=|x|

If we translate it 7units down then the function is

  • y=|x|-7

So

Everything is same

Just the graph shifted 7units downwards

Answer:

y = |x| is a parent function

y = |x| - 7 is a translation of the parent function vertically by 7 points down

The shape is same, just the entire graph has shifted down.
