Make variables first
x = adult
x + 56 = students
You know there is a total of 756
x + x + 56 = 756
2x + 56 = 756
2x = 700, x = 350

Solution: 350 adult tickets

A total of 756 tickets were sold they were either adult or student there were 56 more student tickets sold than adults. How many adult tickets were sold?
