We know that when an exponent is raised to another exponent, you simply multiply them together.

ex:


(5^3)^2 = 5^6

We also know that a negative exponent inverts the term like so:

Thus we can deduce that in order to receive an exponent of 24 with the term on the bottom, we must multiply the -4 by 6 in order to get a -24 that inverts the term.
