Solution:

Volume of a square base pyramid is:


V=(1)/(3)Bh ...(i)

Where, B is the base area and h is the height of the pyramid.

Base is a square with edge 2 cm, so the base area is:


B=a* a

Where, a is the edge of the square base.


B=2* 2


B=4

Putting
B=4,h=3 in (i), we get


V=(1)/(3)(4)(3)


V=4

Therefore, the volume of the given pyramid is 4 cm³.
