A class contains 12 female and 20 male students. Find the probability that when two students are chosen randomly from the class, the first student is male and the second student is female.

Explanation:

Since there 32 students, of which 20 are male, the probability of selecting a student and them being male first is 20/32.

The probability of selecting another student and they are female is 12/31, because the male student is counted out of the selection because he is already picked.
