A baker has 6 pounds of sugar. He divides into 3 containers. He then uses 1 container to bake pies.

Explanation:

If the question is how much sugar contains pie, then do it like this:

6:3=2

So in one container you have 2 pounds of sugar. And if you use 1 container for a pie you will use : 2 pounds of sugar for pie.

If question is how much sugar does he have after that, it would be:

6-2=4 pounds of sugar or

3-1= 2 containers of sugar
