How did the Brezhnev Doctrine impact power structures in Eastern Europe after 1900

The Brezhnev Doctrine began to crumble as the communist system in both Eastern Europe and in the Soviet Union began to falter in the mid-1980s. The Soviet communist economy was horribly inefficient and rife with corruption, and the Soviet Union experienced significant financial hardship after Brezhnev's death.
