separate the trapezoid into a rectangle and a triangle solve the area for the rectangle which is 30 square units and then solve the area for the triangle so the bottom of the triangle is 3 squares and then the side of it is 6 squares multiply 3 by 6 and then you'll get 18 since that's a triangle you have to divide by 2 and you'll get nine you add 30 and 9 to get 39 square units
