Why is cigaratte smoking injurious to health ?

Answer:

During smoking the cigarettes fumes make the walls alveoli very thin which causes rupturing of alveoli. This reduces the surface area for gaseous exchange in lungs .

To make up for the reduces gaseous exchange the heart has to pump more blood.
