Jason solved the equation below. What error did he make?

8 + 3x = 5(x - 2)
Step A: 8 + 3x = 5x – 10
Step B: 8 = 2x – 10
Step C: -2 = 2.c
Step D: -1= x

Answer:

It looks like on step c he took away 10 instead of adding 10
