Formula for area of triangle:

A = bh x 1/2

Formula for area of parallelogram:

A = bh

Now find the area of the figure above which is a triangle:

3(base) x 8(height) x 1/2 = 12

Let's find the area of the parallelogram;

6(height) x 9(base) = 54

Add the two areas together:

12 + 54 = 66 cm2
