Enter the x-coordinate of the solution to this system of equations

−2x−y=6

8x+3y=−28

x= ?

I have trouble with these kinds of problems so a mini explanation would really help me out :)

Answer:

equation 2into minus 3 into equation 1

8x+ 3y= -28

-3x-3y=18

----------------

5x=10

x =2

put value of y in equation 2

8 into 2+3y=-28

16+3y= -28

3y= -28+16

3y= -12

y= -4
