War has detrimental effects on society. Although war may financially benefit a country and stimulate the economy, it has detrimental effects on politics, economics and society. War causes the foreign policy to change.

So war can affect politics in a number of ways, and perhaps the best way to generalize about its effects is to say that a nation rarely emerges from war with its political institutions unchanged.
