There are free nucleotides present around the replication fork and DNA polymerase enzyme connects them to the old (template) strand using the complementary base pairing (A+T, C+G). Hydrogen bonds are again created between the complementary bases and new DNA strands rewind to form a double helix.

Answer:

Ligase is the enzyme that binds the new bases in the DNA template to the old bases. Explanation: The ligase enzyme performs a vital function in the replication and repair of DNA. It joins Okazaki fragments, seals DNA repairs, and seals recombination fragments.
