If 2.4 grams of magnesium react in an excess of nitrogen, how many moles of
magnesium nitride are formed?

\\ \rm\longmapsto 3Mg+N_2\longrightarrow M_3gN_2

Moles of Mg:-


\\ \rm\longmapsto (2.4)/(24)=0.1mol

Here

  • 3mol of Mg produces 1 mol magnesium nitride
  • 1mol of Mg produces 0.33mol Magnesium nitride.
  • 0.1mol of Mg will produce 0.33(0.1)=0.033mol Mg_3N_2
