The theme of Langston Hughs 'Freedom' is that he wants to find a way to change how society percieves other races to colored people. Everything that he states in the poem is a want for change that he believes that will be right to gain freedom and independence, where his kind can gain the rights that they have wanted. By gaining these rights, it allows people like him to not having to suffer any longer from abuse. They believe it is better to fight and die for freedom than not waiting for a change to occur.
