What two quantities do you need to know to calculate the numerical value of velocity

You need the distance travelled and how long it took so the time. You can use this in the formula Speed = distance / time to calculate the speed or velocity.

Answer: To calculate velocity, divide distance traveled by the time it took to travel that distance and add direction. If one's position does not change, velocity is zero.
