In chemistry, hard water is the water that has minerals like magnesium and calcium naturally present. Hard water has high mineral content, it produces no foam and lather when used with soap, used as drinking water. If suddenly used, it causes hair and skin to turn dry. It is found in groundwater like deep wells.
