Answer:

The Great Depression was caused by overuse of credit cards, overproduction, the stock market crash, bank failures, unequal distribution of wealth, and margin buying. These gave us long term effects like economic depression, high unemployment rates, panics, and issues with world trade. Eventually, FDR came up with the "New Deal" to help supply people with employment opportunities and bank holidays to attempt to revive the economic meltdown and bank crashes.
