Since the absolute value only results in 0 or positive numbers, the range cannot include any negative real numbers. 
 |3| = 3
 |0| = 0
 |-3| = 3
Therefore the range is not all real numbers, since all negative real numbers are excluded from the range.
The range is y ≥ 0.
