I think you meant wavefronts. Wavefronts are a useful way of picturing waves from above. Each wavefront is used to represent a single wave. This is basically a representation form of waves. You can identify many features of the waves according to the wavefronts. For instance, the space between each wavefront represents the wavelength; the shorter the space between lines, the shorter the wavelength.
