Answer: A. p=2

Explanation:

Since the numerator (top number) of the first equation is missing you have to look for a common factor in the denominator(bottom number). Very similar to dividing. Just divide 12 (the denominator of the completed fraction) by 3 (the denominator of the incomplete fraction). This will help us find out how much the fraction changed since they are equal to each other the numbers are changed but its value is still the same.

12 divided by 3 is 4

so now we know that they multiplied the first fraction by 4 to get the second fraction, so all we have to do is figure out what number we need to multiply by 4 to get 8. Again similar to dividing, you divide 8 by 4.

8 divided by 4 is 2

So the answer would be A which is p=2.
