When looking at a graph, whenever the function line is going up, that is when the function is increasing. All you need to to is find the X values over this time. Then, just format them in the [lowest x] < x < [highest x] format.


With this function, we can see that the f(x), or y, is increasing between X = 0 and X = 5. We would write 0 < x < 5. This shows that x is more than 0, but is less than 5 over the interval where it is increasing.
