"Define variables"

The number of student's tickets = a

→ The number of non-student tickets = b

→ the total cost represented = y

"Create an equation that models this situation"

→ y = $5 × a + $10 × b

"Rewrite the equation in slope intercept form"

→ y = $5 × a + $10 × b

→ y = 5a + 10b

250 = 5a + 10b
