y = 3.8x

Explanation:

Let y = the cost of the cherries

Let x = pounds of cherries

We can find the unit rate by either:


(7.98)/(2.1) = $3.80 per pound

or


(10.64)/(2.8) = $3.80 per pound

Now we can write the equation

hy = 3.8x
