It's very simple

Placenta is a ring i meant to say the structure is like a disc where the finger like projections of villi are surrounded like a disc. It helps to give nutrition to the developing foetus. It helps to remove the foetus wastes from the pracenta to blood. The placenta is like a earth and the developing foetus is like a man who is get protected by earth.
