PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

In comparison to the parent function f(x)=square root x,
When does a graph move up? When does a graph move down?

Parent function:

f(x) = √x

Add a number to the value of the function, such as k:

f(x) = (√x) + k

If k is positive, the function moves up. If k is negative, the function moves down.
