Blood has four components: red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma.
These can be separated for individual analysis by spinning the blood sample in a
centrifuge. Imagine that, after taking the vial of blood out of the centrifuge, you end up
spilling some of it. Why is this a problem when you're trying to figure out the percent
composition by mass of blood?
