Given figure is a parallelogram since opposite sides are parallel.

Therefore the sides between angles 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 are of equal length:

  • 2x + 9 = 9x + 1
  • 9x - 2x = 9 - 1
  • 7x = 8
  • x = 8/7
  • x = 1.14
