Many Americans view the Victorian era as primarily conventional and even prudish, or stuffy. Considering the works you read for this unit, do you think that opinion is accurate or inaccurate? It might be said that even thought people thought this period was " "prudish, hypocritical, stuffy, old fashioned ,and narrow-minded", it might not be totally accursed because it is considered a period of peace and prosperity for Britain. the middle class increase in power and number and they aspired to become part of the nobility.
