If an atom has zero net charge, with 8 protons and 10 neutrons, how many electrons does

the atom have?

It has 8 electrons because a proton gives you a +1 charge so you need 8 -1 charges to cancel it out. Each electron is -1 so to get a net zero you would need the same number of electrons and protons
